Head of state takes part in SEECP Summit in Tirana

The President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti is taking part in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) that is held in Albania’s capital Tirana on May 25-26. On the sidelines of the summit, Nicolae Timofti will have a meeting with his Albanian counterpart Bujar Nishani, IPN reports.

According to the presidential press service, in the summit Nicolae Timofti will speak about the importance of the SEECP countries cooperating on the Euro-Atlantic dimension. The official delegation of Moldova consists of the secretary general of the President’s staff Ion Paduraru, presidential adviser on communication Vlad Turcanu, presidential adviser on foreign policy and European integration Iulian Grigorita, Deputy Minister of Foreign Policy and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi, and Moldova’s Ambassador in Tirana Alexandru Prigorschi.

The South-East European Cooperation Process was launched on Bulgaria’s initiative in 1996, with the aim of establishing new forms of cooperation following the appearance of new states on the territory of former Yugoslavia. The SEECP includes Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Moldova, Montenegro, and Slovenia.
