Two persons who illegally transported men from Ukraine to Moldova were fined 50,000 lei each. The car they were driving, to the value of €10,000, was confiscated for the benefit of the state. For their services, the haulers asked for US$3,500 to 6,000 from the Ukrainians, IPN reports.

According to prosecutors, the men fit to fight, aged between 18 and 60 years, were transported bypassing the border crossing points. The two persons from Chisinau and Tiraspol, aged 33 and 38, were detained in December 2023.

The group to which the offenders belonged recruited clients through Telegram channels, and payments were made in cryptocurrencies.

Both of the men admitted their guilt in court. But investigations continue to identify other members of the group specialized in illegal migration.
