Ion Perju, the suspended police officer who is suspected of murdering Valeriu Boboc on the night of April 7, 2009, in a hearing on August 16 said he is not guilty. The victim's father Victor Boboc said he does not know who killed his son, but believes that Valeriu died after he was beaten by Ion Perju, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Victor Boboc also said that the trial lasts for too long. “I'm afraid that even if this trial is long, the real culprits will not be found in the end,” he said, adding that he intends to lodge an application with the European Court of Human Rights so that the killer of his son is identified.
Today's hearing was interrupted because not all the witnesses invited came to give testimony. Victor Boboc said about 20 witnesses will testify for the injured side. He also said that some of the witnesses have been pressed by unidentified persons.
The next hearing was scheduled for September 6.
