A group of 19 confectioners of different national companies and young graduates increase their skills in gastronomy. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) launched training courses within the European project to build confidence between the residents of both sides of the Nistru River. At the end of the courses, the confectioners will be able to test their knowledge in practicums in Germany, IPN reports.
Coordinator of the project on behalf of the CTI Vasile Nicolai said the cooks will acquire skills to meet the current needs of companies and consumers’ expectations. “The participants in the courses will learn new culinary techniques, the carving art, special drawing and modeling. Thus, they will be able to offer new, original products made by special recipes to clients,” stated Vasile Nicolai.
The practical lessons will be given in labs outfitted with modern equipment. At the end of the courses, the participants will take an exam and the best students will go to Germany.
Trainer Nina Costovich said each cook or confectioner must know the key rules that influence the quality of the product. Besides the esthete aspect, the dishes must also satisfy the nutritional needs of the consumer. The participants in the courses will be familiarized with the main principles of work for each category of products and will learn how to combine ingredients.
Training courses within the EU-funded “Support to Confidence Building Measures Program” will also be staged at the CTI branches in Balti, Tighina and Rybnitsa. About 100 representatives of the business community from both sides of the Nistru will benefit from training, will take part in local fairs, economic forums and internships in Austria and Germany.
