Grigore Cobzac, who runs as an independent in the new parliamentary elections in constituency No. 38 Hâncești, was excluded from the Action and Solidarity Party, as was the head of the PAS local organization in Hâncești Marcel Petrușan, who gave support to Cobzac.

Contacted by IPN for comment, PAS MP Radu Marian said the decision to exclude the two from the party was taken by the PAS’ National Standing Bureau by a majority of votes in a meeting on January 30. It happened after the National Political Council’s January 18 decision concerning the fielding of the candidate for MP in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești was not respected, with the provisions on the statutes of the PAS being thus violated.

“The decision was taken after all the attempts to amicably remedy the situation after Grigore Cobzac and Marcel Petrușan violated the PAS statutes failed,” stated the MP.

Olesea Stamate, former minister of justice in the Sandu Government, is the PAS candidate for MP in Hâncești. Grigore Cobzac was registered as an independent.
