The Government let it to the Parliament to decide if it is necessary that the future MPs shall present medical certificates concerning their mental health,
Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Government considered a draft bill to modify the Electoral Law, put up by MP Veaceslav Untila. He suggests that in addition to the documents necessary to register the nominees to become deputies, the should also produce certificates concerning their psychic health. The MP is said to be willing to prevent people with psychic problems to reach to be parliamentarians.
The Government says verily checking one’s psychic health would allow testing the candidates’ adequacy. On the other hand, abusively using this information would represent an attack on the private life of politicians.
The Government thinks it to be a good idea to also develop a mechanism to protect people from possible abuse.
After making some editorial improvements, the Government let it to the Parliament to decide whether to pass or not the modifications.
