Government promises to increase the wages of the state employees in four stages this year. On April 1, July 1, September 1 and December 1 the state employees will enjoy raises, deputy minister of Economy and Commerce Sergiu Sainciuc told a briefing on Tuesday, January 30. According to him, authorities negotiate with the trade unions about the final value of the increases that will depend on the real possibilities of the budget. Several implementation options of the provisions included in the Wage Law will be submitted to the Government for approval in the near future. Sainciuc said that the basic wages will be increased starting April 1: from the wage coefficient of 0.8 and 0.9 to 1. It includes an increase of 11-25% for the workers, auxiliary personnel, and specialised personnel working in all the fields of the social sector. Wage bonuses for work experience will grow starting July 1. The provisions refer to the teaching staff, including the teachers who work in the pre-higher education institutions, universities and non-university education institutions. According to the provisions, the increases will amount to 10-30% depending on the work experience. The persons with a work experience of over 20 years will receive a 30% higher wage. The wages for the complexity level (for specialists) will increase starting September 2. The increases will constitute 10-30%. Preliminary estimations show that the Wage Fund of State Employee will have to provide over MDL 350 mln supplementary. The Fund had about MDL 3.8 mln as on January 1, 2007, Sainciuc stated. State authorities have recently asserted that there are favourable premises to apply the second stage of the Wage Law in the budgetary field. It is planned to have revenues of 13.5%, although the own incomes of the state budget already exceeded by 34% the total volume of revenues in the similar period last year.
