Government to build power lines interconnecting neighbouring countries

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure will work out, at Premier Vasile Tarlev’s suggestion, in late January, an action plan aiming at building high-tension power lines LEA-330 kV “Balti-Novodnestrovsk” and 400 kV “Balti-Suceava” for the interconnection with the energy systems of the neighbouring countries. As the director of “RED-Nord” JSC Igor Savin states, the investments in the given enterprise started in 2003, being expended about 6-7 mln lei annually. This year, the enterprise plans to capitalize about 47 mln lei, of which 37% will go for the renovation of fixed funds. “RED Nord-Vest” intends to invest this year about 20 mln lei in rehabilitation of power networks. Also, “Union Fenosa” Company plans to invest this year 250 mln lei, of which 96 mln lei in renovation of power distribution networks in the serving zones.
