The fight against corruption, speeding up the justice reform, eliminating constraints for businesses and creating new jobs are among the government's priorities for the new year listed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca during the Cabinet's first meeting of 2014, IPN reports.

The head of the Executive is optimistic and thinks 2014 will witness significant economic growth. “We must focus even more on eliminating obsolete standards and obstacles and replace them with European standards”, said Leanca.

The official stated that the government will continue to focus on improving the quality of life, from the fight against smoking to extending the drinking water supply in localities and improving infrastructure.

Iuriea Leanca expects the Agreement of Association with the EU to be signed this year, together with the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area and the removal of the Schengen visa regime for Moldovans.
