Following the dissolution of the Industry and Infrastructure Ministry (IIM) amounts of 1.4m lei from the 2008 state budget will be saved. The information was presented to the deputies in the Friday sitting, on March 7, during which the relevant bill on dissolving the Ministry was examined in the second reading, Info-Prim Neo reports. The staff chart will thus be optimized by 30% (22-23 jobs.) The Ministry has as subordinates 15 state enterprises and administers the state’s majority interests in 17 joint ventures with full or partial state capital. The Ministry’s responsibilities will be transferred to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. The draft on dissolving the Ministry was voted by most of MPs, as the Government will have but 16 ministries as a result.
