If the Government had a more indulgent behavior towards the opposition, this would be a proof that it learned from its mistakes and has European behavior, political analyst Igor Botan said in the program “Politics” on TV7 channel. On the other hand, Head of Parliament Igor Corman said the working rules are the same for all the parliamentary groups, while the Communist opposition would only win if it had a more fellow-like behavior, IPN reports.

According to the Speaker, the Communists have staged large-scale protests for a long time. “I thought this stage was over. If they consider they should continue such acts, it’s their right, but they must obey the law. I personally do not think that their rating is going up. They should better show seriousness and constructivism,” stated Igor Corman.

He also said the colleagues from the opposition should agree that a law on the opposition is necessary. “If such a law exists, the rules will be clearer. For example, in Lithuania the Law on the Opposition provides that the opposition is allotted one day a month when it puts forward all its bills. The opposition has many populist demands. We also want the pensions and salaries to rise, but we must act depending on the reality. They submit the same proposals. I already know all their replies,” said Igor Corman.

Political analyst Igor Botan said the existence of the opposition is very important. “Those who have power must have a more indulgent behavior towards those who do not have it. It would be a lesson for society and the politicians, even if the opposition behaves as it behaves. This would show that the government is European and that it learned from certain mistakes, which would be a step towards progress,” he stated.

On November 7, the Communists imposed an ultimatum on the government, demanding that the executive be dismissed and that a national referendum on Moldova joining the Russia-Belarus Customs Union be held. Otherwise, they will stage a large-scale protest on November 21.
