Government approves of composition of delegation of Consultative Group meeting of Donors for Moldova

The Government has approved of the composition of Moldovan delegation that will participate on December 12 in the meeting of the Consultative Group of Donors for Moldova that will be held in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium. The Moldovan delegation is composed of 16 persons, including 5 media representatives. According to a Government’s decision, the Moldovan delegation that will be headed by Premier Vasile Tarlev includes also the first deputy minister Zinaida Grecianai; Foreign minister Andrei Stratan, ambassador to the EU Eugen Carpov, minister of Economy and Commerce Igor Dodon, minister of Finances Mihai Pop and others. Director of the WB Office in Moldova, Edward Brown, stated Wednesday, December 6 that BM appreciates the Government’s efforts in boosting economy and will ask the foreign donors attending the meeting held in Brussels to augment the volume of funding for Moldova. From 7 to 10 December, WB Operation Managing Director, Graeme Wheeler, who will head the WB delegation at the meeting of the Consultative Group of Donors for Moldova, is on a visit to Moldova. The discussions with the Moldovan authorities will focus on the efforts made by Moldova to implement the reforms aiming at reducing poverty and promoting economic growth, in compliance with the provisions of EGPRSP and EU-Moldova Action Plan. The official will also consider the actions taken for tackling the foreign shocks related to prices, which threaten progress concerning poverty reduction and economic growth.
