The draft agreement on the creation of a parliamentary majority that would invest a new Government to manage the country was practically finalized in the third round of talks. However, the negotiator on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party said there are yet divergences in certain areas between the negotiating sides. The statements were made after the third round of talks on May 23, IPN reports.
Valeriu Lazar, negotiator on behalf of the Democratic Party, told the press that they already designed a clear construction for the future government. “Consensus was generally reached on the draft agreement. The colleagues accepted and re-included important elements that were discussed earlier in the agreement. Only several things concerning institutional changes are yet to be discussed,” he stated.
The next round of negotiations will focus on the institutional design and the Liberal-Democrats are to present the stance of the Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca as to how the future Government should work. “The atmosphere in general stimulates cooperation. The Liberal Democratic Party remains firm in the position that we will not accept political influence on certain institutions. There are yet certain divergences,” said the Lib-Dem Vadim Pistrinciuc, without giving details about the divergences.
The leader of the Liberal reformers Ion Hadarca said the representatives of the parties became more prudent in the talks, given the previous experience. “Every expression and principle is filtered. The positive aspect is that the discussions are constructive. For the time being, we ask nothing. The posts haven’t been yet discussed. But we want to preserve the optimal representation of the Liberal Party,” he said, adding it was proposed that the high-ranking posts should be fixed in the agreement.
The negotiators said several rounds of negotiations may be held on May 24. The first meeting is expected to take place starting at 12 noon.
