The Government rejected a legislative proposal to introduce pharmaceutical trade through mobile units. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said this is not possible, IPN reports.

According to the minister, the bill doesn’t contain an analysis of the risks of selling pharmaceutical products through mobile units, especially as regards the conditions for keeping the given products.

“The sale of pharmaceutical products is based on the principle of public health security. The bill provides no norm that could be imposed on traders. For this bill to produce the expected result, it should contain sanitary and other norms concerning the safety of these mobile units,” stated Viorica Dumbrăveanu.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the given legislative proposal is populist in character. “The idea of selling such products that are important for the people’s life and health by the roadside cannot be accepted,” he noted.
