A prosecutor caught a culprit who evaded the escort in the morning of November 21. It happened near Penitentiary No. 11 of Balti, when the person who was escorted to the gate of the prison profited from the inattention of police officers and tried to evade, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the prosecutor was nearby when he saw the escape attempt and intervened, immobilizing the person. This turned out to be an offender who was transferred to the penitentiary after he was held on remand during 30 days for raping, robbing and intentionally killing a teenage girl from Ungheni.
The prosecutor who stopped the individual is the deputy chief prosecutor of the Glodeni Prosecutor’s Office and this is now on leave. During the incident, the prosecutor suffered a finger fracture and is now operated at a hospital in Balti.
