Gheorghe Suceveanu was appointed as the interim head of the Municipal Department for Science, Youth and Sports, following Alexandru Roman, who was appointed last week as rector of Public Administration Academy through a presidential decree.
The interim Mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu told reporters that Suceveanu was appointed to this position because the repairing process is going on in schools and this was his competence as deputy chairman of this structure. According to Ursu, in three months at most a new chairman will be appointed as well out of department’s staff.
In the context of Mayoralty’s staff reorganization, Vasile Ursu told that the new staff chart of the Eduacation Department must exclude the present number of 59 employees. According to him, “only several persons are needed to supervise the state of the field”. “It is not necessary to appoint an inspector for each school who would say how to organize the process, because the principals proved that they have initiatives”, Ursu emphasized. The interim Mayor of Chisinau states the the control performed by the Education Department must be excluded and the education institutions must be subordinated to preturs.
Alexandru Roman declared on Monday, within the same meeting that during three years and a half of activity the leadership of the department managed to register progress at all chapters, including on creating lyceums. 27 new lyceums had been created and other 6 must be approved by the commissions of CMC.
