The activist Fiodor Ghelici is offering prime minister Maia Sandu to create and head an inquiry commission for investigating the bank fraud. Ghelici is confident that he will be able to identify those involved and bring them to justice in the shortest time possible.

“I hope my address makes it to your table. I have a vast experience in auditing government expenditure,” Fiodor Ghelici addressed Maia Sandu via a press conference.

The activist said that if Maia Sandu decides to create the commission and put him in charge of the inquiry, he will request a week-long travel ban on all bank employees and public functionaries. Within a week, the required steps will be made to arrest all those involved in the fraud.

Ghelici said he first thought to propose this to the President, but he no longer trusts Igor Dodon. During his time as chairman of the Public Control Commission reporting to the President, Ghelici tried to investigate the bank fraud. “But Igor Dodon told me to blame everything on (the former prime minister Vlad) Filat.”

The activist says that public officials that violate the law must be held accountable, and not just dismissed, in which case they can even sue for severance.
