The Technical Cooperation Office of Germany (GTZ) planned for 2006 an 80 thousand euros budget for promoting businesswomen in Chisinau, declared the General Manager of GTZ in Moldova, Aurelia Crozu. The project was presented at the “Small Business-200” Exhibition. According to the quoted source the main goal of the project is to support women willing to start a business by offering informational, consultative and financial support. As a consequence, new work places will be created and women from Moldova will get the possibility to have a decent income in order not to stay in the country. The participants of the project will benefit of consultations and assistance services on starting a business and acquire professional skills. The women that will decide to start a business will be offered a non-repayable financing. The target group is composed of the women that graduated from the superior education institutions or the ones that interrupted their studies, professionally active women, and also those unemployed. “GTZ will examine the possibility of expanding the project to other localities of the country; in the case more solicitations will be received”, mentioned Aurelia Crozu. The General Manager of GTZ in Moldova said that on the market already are numerous consultancies, qualification and consultancy offers, although the women are not clearly supported. “This project comes to fill the gap” states the representative of GTZ. The project is planed for a term of 2 years and implies opening 50 small enterprises. In order to perform all the proposed objectives, GTZ collaborates with different women organizations from Chisinau, as the women association for instruction and development, the international center for promoting women into business and the Association for Development, Education and reform that launched a micro-project destined particularly for women, which want to launch a media business.
