The Ambassador of Germanys Matthias Meyer has completed his diplomatic mission in Moldova. On this occasion, President Nicolae Timofti had a meeting with the diplomat, IPN reports.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state thanked the ambassador for his contribution to developing and deepening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Moldova and Germany. “The fact that your mission began with the organization, on August 22, 2012, of the visit to Chisinau of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who transmitted a message of support for Moldova’s European aspirations, is symbolic” said Nicolae Timofti.
He thanked the German authorities for the technical and financial assistance offered within the programs to strengthen the democratic institutions and approved of the German investors’ contribution to developing the national economy.
Matthias Meyer confirmed the firm support provided by Germany to Moldova in the European integration process. “The Moldovan people belong to the European family. The citizens must be informed about the advantages of the Association Agreement so that they make the right choice for the country’s future in this autumn’s parliamentary elections,” said the diplomat.
