The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations during December 19-20 is holding the General Staff Exercise whose goal is to strengthen central authorities’ and public emergency management institutions’ capacities to prevent, brace for and respond to emergency situations, IPN reports.
The General Staff exercise is organized in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). It involves 39 specialists of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and representatives of responsible ministries, who will be engaged in the simulation of the process of managing several emergency situations.
During the exercise, representatives of the responsible institutions will work together to plan, organize, coordinate and manage seven scenarios, which represent possible exceptional situations in case of interruption of energy supply from power plants.
The joint General Staff drilling will contribute to increasing the operational management capacities of the institutions involved in the process of dealing with emergency situations.
