"General Spring Cleanup" begins in capital city

The "General Spring Cleanup" campaign started in Chisinau. According to the General Housing and Amenities Division, the heads of municipal housing managing enterprises and of dwellers' associations will organize the gathering and taking away of dry leaves in courtyards of the managed apartment buildings, and will maintain cleanliness on and around municipal waste collection platforms, and also on playgrounds and sports fields under their management, IPN reports.

The sidewalks, courtyards of apartment buildings and green spaces will also be cleaned.

The General Housing and Amenities Division will ensure the monitoring of cleaning works.

The district head’s offices will become involved in the gathering and disposal of waste collected in parks, the identification of unauthorized garbage dumps, including vegetable waste dumps, and will impose fines in case of non-compliance with the rules and norms of use, technical service and sanitary maintenance of homes, places and installations of common use.

Under the relevant ordinance, the municipal enterprise "Green Spaces Management Association" will ensure the cleanliness and disposal of waste in parks, squares, alleys and other green areas under its management. It will also organize the process of planting trees in green areas of the city and of felling dry trees.

The municipal cleanup enterprise "Autosalubritate" will ensure the transportation of municipal waste from waste platforms and the washing and disinfection of containers.

The cleaning of cemeteries and adjoining areas, gathering and disposal of solid waste and vegetable waste will be among the tasks of the municipal enterprise "Funeral Services Combine".

The General Urban Mobility Division will focus on the mechanized cleaning of boulevards and streets in Chisinau.

In this connection, the General Housing and Amenities Division informs that it is forbidden to burn any type of liquid, solid or vegetable waste.

The cleanup campaign will run from March 10 until April 18.
