The police made public the first violations of the electoral legislation since the opening of polling stations, including cases of organized transportation of voters and alleged cases of bribery in favor of an electoral contender.

According to the deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Marin Maxian, 14 cases of violation of the electoral legislation have been reported so far. These include the placing of electoral posters within 100 meters of polling stations, damaging of electoral posts, hooliganism, campaigning and also organized transportation of voters in Dubăsari, Bender and Rezina.

There are examined a number of alleged cases of electoral bribery at polling stations intended for voters from the Transnistrian region. “Reports of voter corruption with US$20 and 500 Transnistrian rubles, primarily in Varnița, are disseminated through social networking side and the media. The police are examining the situation,” stated Marin Maxian.

Unlike the presidential elections of last year, CEC didn’t adopt a decision to ban organized transportation of voters to polling stations. A number of 41 polling stations were established for the Moldovan citizens living in the Transnistrian region.
