The Gelibert company from Sangerei marks 25 years of activity in the production of mineral water, soft drinks, and drinking water. Between 2022 and 2024, the company benefited from financial support through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development in the form of non-reimbursable grants funded by the Government and the European Union. These grants allowed the company to acquire a modern bottling line and a PET bottle blowing line, IPN reports.
The company's administrator, Vasile Bejenari, stated that the first project, focused on internationalization, had a total value of 4 million lei, of which 2 million were granted as a non-reimbursable grant. The second project was dedicated to retooling and energy efficiency, with a total investment of 3.5 million lei and a grant of 1.76 million lei.
"These two projects have enabled the development and modernization of the company, increasing the sustainability and competitiveness of our products in both local and international markets," said Vasile Bejenari. According to the businessman, without the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, the company would have had to rely on bank loans for financing.
EU support has been essential for the company's development. During a visit to Gelibert, the European Union ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the EU and local enterprises in promoting economic growth and innovation.
"Thanks to the EU's financial support, the quality of bottled drinking water has improved, and the company has been equipped with high-performance equipment that ensures energy efficiency and reduces carbon emissions," states an ODA press release.
