The Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” see themselves governing the country together after the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. Representatives of the two parties said a PAS – PPPDA collation would be a “natural alliance”, especially because the two parties have experience of governing together, IPN reports.

PAS vice president Natalia Gavrilița noted she would accept the post of Prime Minister if an alliance of parties that aim to reform the justice sector and to fight corruption was formed after the elections.

“If I have this honor, I will accept. If not, I will do my best for a pro-European Government to improve the situation in the country. We run in these elections in order to complete the change we started at the presidential elections. We will continue the program of President Maia Sandu. We will negotiate the administration and the appointment of a Government with those forces that will embrace our values. We hope a lot to have our colleagues from the PPPDA in the future Parliament and this would be a natural alliance,” Natalia Gavrilița stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

The representatives of the PPPDA expressed their confidence that their party will be present in the future Parliament despite the fact that the last opinion poll carried out by Date Inteligente (iData) shows that the party led by Andrei Năstase will not pass the election threshold.

“Without the PPPDA, a pro-European and reformist government cannot exist. A single party will be unable to win a majority of seats and only a PAS-PPPDA coalition can form a natural majority, especially because we governed together earlier and delivered results. It is important that the people vote massively for the two parties so that we have a comfortable majority of 55-56 seats,” said PPPDA MP Vasile Năstase.

According to the iData poll, if snap elections were held next Sunday, three parties would enter Parliament. The PAS would gain over 39% of the vote, the PSRM-PCRM bloc – 33.4%, while the Shor Party – slightly over 10%. The survey does not cover the diaspora and the Transnistrian region.
