The National Agency for Energy Regulatory accepted an increase of 3.4 lei in the natural gas charge to 15.5 lei per cubic meter. With VAT, the charge is 16.74 lei. The adjusted rates will enter into force on December 1, IPN reports.

According to representatives of the Agency, the decision was taken due to the significant increase in natural gas purchase prices on international markets.

The prices regulated by the NAER, excluding VAT, applicable depending on the delivery points are as follows:

- entry into the natural gas transmission networks – 11 011 lei/1 000 m3;
- exit from the natural gas transmission networks – 11 101 lei/1 000 m3;
- exit from the high-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 11 220 lei/1 000 m3;
- exit from the medium-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 12 267 lei/1 000 m3;|
- exit from the low-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 15,502 lei/ 1000 m3.

NAER officials noted that postponing the increase in charges can lead to major financial losses for the supplier and, in the critical winter months, this risk can affect the security of natural gas supply.

In recent months, international natural gas markets have seen an accelerated increase in prices, especially in November 2024, when TTF quotations rose by more than 25%.
