After almost three weeks, the fuel prices were increased again. The prices at filling stations are now by 0.55-0.75 lei/liter higher, IPN reports.
Currently, gasoline “95” is sold on average for 18.60 lei a liter, as opposed to 18.05 lei until recently. A liter of diesel fuel is sold for 16.20 lei, in contrast to 15.45 lei earlier, while a liter of liquefied petroleum gas costs 11.32 lei, compared with 10.62 lei until now.
Fuel prices started to be raised in the middle of last December. In February, they were increased for three times.
Since March 2019, fuel sellers have set the retail prices of the main fuels and liquefied petroleum gas themselves, within an annual markup of 10%.
The fuel prices were discussed in the last-but-one meeting of the Supreme Security Council. President Maia Sandu said the return to the capping of fuel prices is a solution to the problem of consecutive price rises that are allegedly the result of concerted actions. Later, relevant proposals were introduced into Parliament, but they haven’t ben yet examined.
