Concepts such as 'money', 'bank', 'branch', 'card', 'cashback' and 'ATM' became even more familiar to 20 children of maib employees.

Children between 9 and 11 years old benefited from a financial education lesson, where they learned how a bank and a branch operate, what the functionalities of an ATM are, what money is and its history, at what age they can open their first card and what its facilities are.

The curious and active children were also introduced to the history of maib and learned the meaning of the new maib logo, which some associated with a ladybird in flight.

"It is our first experience of this kind of training when the group of children is not homogeneous, but of different ages and they don't know each other. To our surprise, this moment helped us, as the children either knew something about banking and money or were very open to learn", said Liliana Tarlev, trainer.

"I think the lesson went well, we did extraordinarily well! This financial education lesson convinced us once again that activities with children are always unique, memorable and exciting experiences", said Tatiana Cojuhari, trainer.

Beyond the useful information, the children went home with a backpack full of gifts from maib junior and Mastercard and dreams for when they grow up. For example, some confessed that they want to become maib employees, just like mum or dad, while others will use the maib junior card even more.

Maib acts responsibly towards the community and, through financial education lessons, aims to increase financial literacy in society and knowledge about technology and the digital world. To achieve this, the bank implements the maib edu program.

Maib - together to the next level.
