Members of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) have rejected, at a news conference, the accusations of certain politicians they would have joined the party against money from the leader, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A group of PLDM members, most of them locally elected, stated on Wednesday, March 5, they had decided to join that party because of its Program and desire for change. They say people would go from certain parties because they get disappointed with their leaders, who compromised the opposition and do not want to listen to the opinions of other party members.
PLDM deputy president, Iurie Tap, has said the citizens in Moldova do have a right to choose what parties to join. He has complained different political forces lately have methodically tried to discredit the PLDM and its members.
Last week, the leaders of the Christian-Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) and of the Democratic Party (PDM) accused, on the Parliament’s floor, the PLDM leader, Vlad Filat, of corruption and luring other parties’ members with money. The PDM leader, Dumitru Diacov, told of a couple of cases in which “certain people were bought by the PLDM,” mentioning he knew the amounts of money involved. Filat rejected the accusations.
