“Fragrant” contraband at Albita customs

Two citizens of Moldova are arrested by the Romanian Police on suspicion of contraband in extremely large proportions. According to the Romanian press, the men tried to cross the Albita customs point holding a considerable amount of fake perfumes with labels of well-known producers. The persons told the Romanian customs officers that they transported “cheap perfumes” to a firm in Iasi and presented them even an invoice that included the value of the goods, which was higher than EUR 20,000. The customs officers checked the minibus the men drove and detected 30,000 bottles of perfume, which had labels of well-known producers. If the goods had entered shops in Romania, it would have cost one million dollars. The perfumes have been seized and the men are investigated for smuggling at large.
