Fourth edition of TIFF starts today in Chisinau

The fourth edition of the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) begins on June 28 in Chisinau. Cinephiles will enjoy for three days the newest and most appreciated Romanian films recognized internationally. Access is free of charge, subject to availability, with pre-registration on film.md, IPN reports.

On the first day of the festival, at the Odeon Cinema, starting at 19.00, the film “Freedom”, directed by Tudor Giurgiu, will be screened. The screening will take place in the presence of the film director and crew. Before the official opening, the ”Haz de Necaz” Cine-Concert will take place – a collection of Romanian archive short films from the first half of the 20th century, which will be brought to life through the music of composer Simona Strungaru and jazz trumpeter Sebastian Burneci.

On June 29, from 15:00 p.m., there will be screened the film “Night Butterflies”, directed by Andrei Răuțu, while from 5:30 p.m. - “Nasty”, directed by Tudor Giurgiu, Tudor Popescu and Cristian Pascariu. The film explores the life and career of Ilie Năstase, one of the greatest tennis players of all time. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session. At 20.00, the film “The Dream”, directed by Cătălin Saizescu, will shown on the big screens.

On the last day of the Festival, on June 30, the Odeon Cinema will host the screenings of “How to be dead, if I'm alive?”, directed by Ilinca Călugăreanu, from 15.00, “Where the Elephants Go”, directed by Gabi Virginia Șarga and Cătălin Rotaru, from 16.30, and “Morometii 3”, directed by Stere Gulea - the last part of the beloved trilogy based on the novels by Marin Preda, with Horațiu Malaele and Oana Pellea.

Other screenings will be broadcast at Cineplex Loteanu and Artcor. The full program is available on www.film.md.
