Four political parties of the 46 registered in Moldova face penalties because of the failure to submit financial reports on time, the Central Elections Commission has warned. The offending parties are the Russian-Slavic Party, the Renewal Party, the Our Home Is Moldova Party, and the Socialist Party (not to be confused with the major party formally known as the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and often simplified as the Socialist Party).

The CEC is warning that the failure to submit financial reports by the deadline and in the manner established by the commission, including failure to present complete data, is punishable by a fine ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 lei to be paid by the responsible person.

At one of its next meetings, the CEC will draw up a formal report and the Commission’s president Alina Russu will officially notify the offending parties.
