Four presidential election candidates obtained fewer votes in the October 20 election than the number of signatures of support they presented to the Central Election Commission in order to be registered in the electoral competition.
The four are: Tudor Ulyanovski, Natalia Morari, Andrei Năstase, and Octavian Țîcu. The first three ran independently, and the last one on behalf of the electoral bloc "Together", IPN reports.
According to preliminary data, with 99.3% of the vote reports of the October 20 election counted, Octavian Țîcu gained 14,200 votes, Andrei Năstase and Natalia Morari – over 9,000 votes, and Tudor Ulyanovski – almost 8,000 votes.
In order to be registered in the electoral race, candidates had to collect and submit to the CEC between 15,000 and 25,000 signatures from supporters.
