Four men from Moldova has been exploited in Russia in conditions similar to slavery. They were recruited by a Ukrainian man to perform construction works and were told they will receive by €1,500 a month, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in May – July 2010 the four men were forced to work at a building site in the absence of work contracts and without being paid the promised salary.
The Ukrainian man aged 56 was arrested in Moldova and was sentenced to seven years in jail for his acts. Ukraine didn’t ask for his extradition so that he will serve his sentence in Moldova.
