Foreigners who will be refused entry to Moldova upon landing at the Chisinau Airport during May 31-June 2, when our country will host the European Political Community summit, will be offered accommodation in a temporary placement center, the Moldovan Police announced.

The temporary accommodation will be for a maximum of 72 hours, with meals and any medical assistance costs covered by the Moldovan authorities, unless the visitors have a ban on entering Moldova, in which case the costs will be covered by the respective airline.

The decision was taken at the latest meeting of the Exceptional Situations Commission as part of a series of measures to close our country’s airspace for the duration of the June 1 summit, when the Chisinau Airport’s operations will be suspended. All civilian flights, except for official ones, will be prohibited from June 1, 0:00AM local time, to June 2, 7:00AM local time.
