Foreign ministers of Denmark and Poland to pay visit to Moldova

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Martin Lidegaard and the Foreign Minister of Poland Grzegorz Schetyna will make a visit to Moldova on March 2, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman, IPN reports.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry said the officials will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman. The goal of the visit by the two Europeans officials is to reiterate the support for Moldova’s European course and for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU. At the end of the visit, the two ministers will give a joint news conference together with their Moldovan counterpart.

Moldova and Poland established diplomatic relations in December 1991. The most recent high-ranking visit was paid to Chisinau by the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski, on November 20, 2014. The two states signed six bilateral cooperation agreements.

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Denmark were established in January 1992. Six bilateral documents have been signed until now, four of which are now in force.
