A new party is now needed to consolidate the political forces of the right that haven’t yet discredited themselves in power. Such opinions were stated in the talk show “Politics’” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
Deputy chairman of the National Employers Confederation Alexandru Slusari considers a political force is needed to take over and change the system. “The situation in our country is similar to that when you paint a house that is falling into ruin. I think we do not realize the gravity of the moment. In the nearest future, we will face a huge crisis in the area of insurance. We need that force, but there is nothing definite yet. We do not have much time. We have only about a year during which we can yet save this country,” he stated.
The leader of the Party of Progressive Society, millionaire Marin Livadaru said that the old-fashioned politicians like Voronin and Diacov should be removed and replaced with new politicians. “Regretfully, there is now no charismatic leader who could strengthen the political right. Iurie Leanca is not prepared for this. He will become ready only if he matures and detaches himself completely from the old-fashioned politicians,” he stated.
Vasile Costiuc, who heads the “Democracy at Home” Party, said he decided to form an electoral bloc together with other parties of the right because the chances in the local elections would have been minimal otherwise. “This is an opportunity for us. We need to consolidate the right. I don’t think it is within the competence of civil society to do this. The protests mounted by civil society could be suppressed by those forces that enjoyed benefits as a result of the April 2009 protests,” he said.
