Food safety watchdog monitors milk collection centers

The National Food Safety Agency will take samples of milk from milk collection centers so as to monitor the quality indicators. Contacted by IPN for details, Elena Rotar, senior inspector of the Agency, said the milk collection centers are monitored annually in accordance with a Government decision.

“By two samples a month during two consecutive months are taken to determine all kinds of germs. As regards somatic cells, one sample a month during three consecutive months is collected,” stated Elena Rotaru.

A total of 506 milk collection centers will be supervised. There will be taken over 3,500 samples.
