The National Food Safety Agency of Moldova decided to temporarily restrict the import of domestic and farm fowl and poultry from Ukraine’s Vinnitsa region.
The measure is imposed in connection with an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in this region, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Agency.
The food safety authority noted that the ban on the import of fowl and poultry took effect on January 24. Supervision measures will be taken in a move to prevent the spread of bird flu to Moldova.
