The airline HiSky, with Moldovan origins, has operated from its new base, the Henri Coandă Airport, its first direct flight from Bucharest to the United States, InfoPrut reported.
The flight, resumed from Bucharest after a 20-year hiatus, is operated with an Airbus A330 (YR-KID) aircraft with a capacity to seat 24 passengers in business class and 250 in economy class.
The cost of a ticket starts from 349 euros for economy, and 1,899 euros for business class. A hot meal and a snack are included in the fare. During the journey, passengers have access to on-board information and multimedia content, available on the aircraft’s entertainment system.
On Friday, June 7, the plane took off at 08:30, Bucharest time, for a 10-hour flight to New York (JFK).
The flight is connected to the passenger timetable from Cluj-Napoca and Chisinau. On their way to the United States of America, passengers only have a short stop in Bucharest: HiSky adjusted the flight schedule so that the layover takes only 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Regular flights between Bucharest and New York will be made four times a week, departing from Romania every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and back.
