Five police units in pursuit of a car thief. He stopped only when his tires were shot

A young man was apprehended today by the police after stealing a minibus from the Ciocana district of the capital. The vehicle was quickly located, but the driver refused to stop when ordered by the police. He continued driving, committing numerous violations, and after 40 kilometers, law enforcement shot at the tires to stop him, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, a man called 112 this morning and reported that his Mercedes car was stolen from Maria Dragan Street in the capital.

After locating the vehicle, five police units followed the suspect. He refused to comply with the orders to stop. Eventually, in the village of Chetrosu, Anenii Noi district, the police used their firearm, shooting at the front tires of the vehicle.

The driver was immobilized and detained. He turned out to be a 26-year-old man from Drochia district who does not hold a driving license.

The suspect was escorted to the Ciocana Police Inspectorate for further documentation.
