Five persons were arrested on suspicion that they smuggled cars stolen from the European Union into Moldova. Among the suspects is an employee of the Border Police, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the suspects are from Hâncești district and Chisinau and are aged between 24 and 44. They had been followed for three months.
During the 20 searches carried out today, the investigation bodies found 13 cars and evidence of other vehicles that were taken to Moldova earlier. One of the cars was brought into the country in the evening of January 26 and was practically fully dismantled in less than four hours.
