Five people, including two minors, suffered burns and carbon monoxide poisoning after a fire broke out last night in a dormitory on Ion Pelivan Street. 70 people were evacuated by firefighters.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the fire occurred on the first floor, in the stairwell of a five-storey dormitory. Four fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene. Three people, who were trapped on the third floor were evacuated with a mobile ladder.
The people injured in the fire were admitted to the hospital.
At this stage, the cause and the circumstances of the fire are unknown.
