The fishing of Black Sea herring and Black Sea shad on some sections of the Nistru river between May 8 and May 17, 2017 is banned. An order to this effect was signed by Minister of Environment Valeriu Munteanu, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says the fishing of Black Sea herring (Alosa immaculata) and Black Sea shad (Alosa tanaica) between the dam of the Dubasari Hydroelectric Plant and Palanca village of Stefan Voda duistrcit and in the branch Turunciuc is not allowed.
The ban is imposed for the period of the mass migration of the given species with the aim of maintaining their number and reproductive potential in the lower part of the Nistru.
