First round win in elections registered in seven municipalities

Candidates won the election race in the first round in seven municipalities, namely in Bălți, Comrat, Cahul, Ungheni, Orhei, Ceadâr-Lunga and Strășeni. In other four municipalities, the second round of elections will be organized in two weeks.

According to preliminary data, the Political Party "Partidul Nostru" candidate, Renato Usatîi won in the city of Bălți by accumulating 61.93% of the vote, while the Socialist Party runner-up, Alexandr Nesterovschi, got 16.21%.

In Comrat, Serghei Anastasov, the PSRM candidate, won by a landslide, with 94.58% of the votes. The Political Party Șor runner-up, Galina Chireacova, got 5.42% of the vote.

A similar situation occurred in the municipality of Ceadîr-Lunga, where the PSRM candidate, Anatoli Topal, accumulated 94.86%. The other contestant, the Political Party Șor candidate, Mihail Mihalcenco, obtained 5.14% of the vote.

In Cahul municipality, the independent candidate Nicolae Dandiș won the election by securing 81.95% of the votes. The PSRM candidate, Evgheni Osadcenco, obtained 11.62%.

In Orhei municipality, the Political Party Șor candidate, Pavel Verejanu, accumulated 80.03% of the votes, while the ACUM Bloc runner-up, Tatiana Pănuță, got 7.69%.

In Ungheni, the independent candidate Alexandru Ambros defeated the ACUM Electoral Bloc candidate, Gheorghe Petic, by accumulating 55.56% to Petic's 15.54% of the votes.

Valentina Casian, independent candidate, won the election in the municipality of Strășeni with 79.87% of the votes. The PDM runner-up, Mihail Popa, accumulated 11.17%.

A second round of elections will take place on November 3 in four municipalities. In Chișinău municipality, the PSRM candidate, Ion Ceban, who has accumulated 40.16%, will compete against the ACUM Bloc candidate, Andrei Năstase, who obtained 31.09%.

In the Hâncești municipality, the ACUM Bloc candidate, Marcel Petrușan, who obtained 32.92%, will run against the Democratic Party candidate, Alexandru Botnari, who accumulated 46.04%.

In Soroca, the PSRM candidate, Lilia Pilipețchi, who secured 34.87%, and the independent candidate, Victor Său, who obtained 16.36%, will compete in the second round of elections.

In the city of Edineț, the independent candidate Constantin Cojocari, who accumulated 49.24%, will run against Vitalie Cuței from PSRM, who got 31.24% of the votes.
