After processing one third of the protocols, the candidates with the most votes in Chișinău are Ion Ceban and Andrei Năstase.
According to the data presented by the Central Electoral Commission on their website, the Socialist Party candidate accumulated 42.31% of the vote, while the ACUM Eletoral Bloc candidate got 30.55%.
The Liberal Party candidate, the former mayor Dorin Chirtoacă, accumulated 9.63% of the vote and came in third.
All other candidates have less than 5%.
The candidate who accumulates 50% + one vote in the mayoral race, wins the election. If none of the candidates manages to reach this threshold, a second round of elections is organized in which the first two hopefuls from the previous round participate. The candidate that gathers the most number of votes in the second round, wins.
After processing one third of the protocols for the Chișinău Municipal Council, the results are as follows: PSRM - 39.09%, the ACUM Bloc - 33.55%, PL - 5.84%, PPȘor - 3.92%, PDM - 3.47%, PUN - 2.99%, Forța Nouă Movement - 2.23%. All other electoral competitors have less than 2%.
