Writer Leonida Lari continues to be mystical, sentimental and prosperous after her death. This is how she was characterized during the launch of her Romanian-Spanish poetry book “The Unicorn/ El Unicornio” on October 24. The book was issued at the Prut Publishing House. The launch started with a poetry performance, IPN reports.
Writer Luminita Dumbraveanu said it is a testament book that includes exclusive poems, short novels and thoughts, but also 16 paintings created by Leonida Lari. “The titular poem “The Unicorn” is dedicated to Dimitrie Cantemir, who was born on the same day as the writer, on October 26,” she stated.
The chairman of the Writers Union Arcadie Suceveanu said that Leonida Lari is the writer who continues to live after death. “The books launched today show that Leonida continues to influence the spirits of this people, whom she served her whole life,” he added.
Leonida Lari’s husband Mihai Iorga said that in this book he rediscovered Leonida’s poems. She wanted to publish a large book, but didn’t manage to see it issued. The book was translated by her Romanian friend Gabriela Banu. “It’s sad, but we are glad that it appeared,” said Mihai Iorga.
Leonida Lari is the author of 24 volumes of poetry and prose. She also translated works from the universal poetry.
