The construction of the first electric bus plant in Moldova will begin this autumn near Chisinau’s suburban commune of Trușeni. Within a year at most, the facility is expected to start manufacturing electric buses and trolleybuses, announced Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.
According to the minister, last summer the manufacturer successfully tested an electric bus in Balti with an autonomy of up to 70 km and a charging time of 30 minutes.
The company also delivered 17 trolleybuses to Balti, and five more are expected to reach the city by the end of this month.
“For the local community this means around 100 new jobs. And we support the local production of electric transport, which is the most ecological”, said Dumitru Alaiba.
