The Central Election Commission accredited the first 69 electoral observers representing the public association Promo-LEX for overseeing the November 1, 2020 presidential elections in Moldova, IPN reports.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, program director of Promo-LEX Pavel Postica said they will yet have more observers and details about this will be provided in a news conference on August 26.
In general, as Pavel Postica stated, the role of the observers of Promo-LEX is to prevent eventual abuses in the electoral process. They will record all the relevant electoral events based on which they will compile public reports that will be presented to the public, the media and the electoral authorities.
