The students of the Arts Academy attended a master class held by film director Valeriu Jereghi on the International Students’ Day, celebrated annually on October 17. The class addressed the filmmaking debut and the way it affects the creation of the artist.
Valeriu Jereghi told Info-Prim Neo that the idea of giving a master class occurred to him when he dug his first works out of personal archives, produced at VGIK film school. He mentioned his film for completing the course of the first study year – “See You in Autumn” and his graduation film dedicated to Auguste Renoir. The latter won Jean Renoir’s affection, the great French painter’s son, during the screening of the movie at the Film Festival in Lille.
Valeriu Jereghi believes that these movies affected his life and helped him keep pace with the high standards taught at VGIK. According to his words, this particular master class was designed to help future filmmakers understand professional secrets better.
Valeriu Jereghi shot movies and documentary films, appreciated at national and international festivals, such as “Iona”, “The Dissident”, “Wild Wind”, and the most recent “The Mirage of Love”.
