The Parliament gave a vote of confidence to the executive's government program titled “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare” and approved the candidates for Cabinet members. The new executive was constituted by the vote of the 53 MPs of the Alliance for European Integration. The parliamentary group of the PCRM abstained from voting, Info-Prim Neo reports. The government program presented by the Prime Minister elect Vlad Filat centers on five major objectives: Moldova's Europeanization, the country's reunification, establishment of the rule of law, overcoming of the financial and economic crisis and insurance of economic growth, and decentralization of the power and guaranteeing of local autonomy. “We will not be a technical government. The word “order” will mean responsibility for the people's fate. We will built a united society where all the people will be involved in the achievement of the set objectives,” Filat said from the rostrum of the Parliament. “The country's reunification for us is a major goal. We want that the Transnistrian conflict is solved peacefully, exclusively in the 5+2 negotiating format,” Vlad Filat said. In his speech that lasted for about 45 minutes, Vlad Filat said that they aim to improve Moldova's relations with the neighboring countries and will make considerable effort to improve crossborder cooperation. “The Government will continue the measures to lift the visa regime for Romanian travelers imposed abusively, which were initiated by the Acting President Mihai Ghimpu,” Filat said, stressing that there will be signed the framework convention on small-scale border traffic and the basic treaty with Romania. Vlad Filat addressed the members of the Opposition, saying that their rights will be respected. Vlad Filat, 40, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), was elected as Prime Minister by a majority vote. He is married and has two children. The Filat Government includes four posts of Deputy Prime Minister. Iurie Leanca will be Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. He is 46, is married and has two children. Earlier, Iurie Leanca had held a number of posts at the Foreign Ministry. During 2001-2005, he had been the vice president of Ascom Company. He is a member of the PLDM. The second Deputy Prime Minister is Valeriu Lazar, who is also Minister of Economy. Valeriu Lazar is 41. From 2005 to 2006 , he had acted as Minister of Economy and Trade in the Tarlev Government. He is a member of the Democratic Party (PDM). The third Deputy Prime Minister, on social matters, is Ion Negrei. Negrei is 51. He was the head of the history division at the publishing house Prut International. He is a member of the Liberal Party (PL). Victor Osipov, 38, will hold the fourth post of Deputy Prime Minister, on reunification matters. Earlier, Osipov had been councilor on behalf of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) and a member of the seventeenth legislature. He is a member of the AMN. The post of State Minister is a new position in the Cabinet. It will be held by Victor Bodiu, 38, director general of Raiffeisen Leasing Company. Veaceslav Negruta, 37, will be Minister of Finance. He is an independent economic expect and a member of the PLDM. Vitalie Marinuta, 39, will act as Minister of Defense. During 2006-2007, he had been the head of the international cooperation and Euro-Atlantic cooperation division of the Ministry of Defense. He is a member of the PL. Marcel Raducan, 42, was named as Minister of Construction and Regional Development. He is also deputy speaker of Parliament, a member of the PDM. Alexandru Tanase, 38, will be Minister of Justice. He is the vice president of the PLDM, lawyer, MP in the present Parliament. Victor Catan, 60, will be Minister of the Interior. He had been the candidate for this post on behalf of the PLDM, but is not a member of this party. Valeriu Cosarciuc, 54, will be Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry. He had been a member of the previous Parliaments. He is a member of the AMN. The vice president of the PL Anatol Salaru, 40, will hold the post of Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure. The Ministry of the Environment will be headed by Gheorghe Salaru, a member of the PL, 48. Leonid Bujor, 54, MP in several legislatures and a member of the AMN, will be Minister of Education. Boris Focsa, 41, will be Minister of Culture. Earlier, Focas was the artistic director of the National Theater “Luceafarul” and a member of the Supervisory Board of Teleradio-Moldova Company. Valentina Buliga, 48, the only woman in the new Government, will be Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family. She was chairwoman of the parliamentary commission for social protection, health and family. Now she is an MP on behalf of the PDM. The Ministry of Health will be headed by the Liberal-Democratic MP Vladimir Hotinreanu. He had been Deputy Minister of Health during 1998-1999. The PL member and former Chisinau councilor Ion Cebanu, 25, will be Minister of Youth and Sport. The AMN member Alexandru Oleinic will be Minister of Information Technology and Communications. The governor of the Autonomous Territorial Uni of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal and the president of the Academy of Science Gheorghe Duca will be the ex officio members of the Government. The new ministers will swear an oath today at the Presidential Office starting at 14.00.
